Repairs: The Macdonald Center, located in downtown Portland, is home to 54 residents with special needs as well at caretakers who work 24 hours a day.

Horizon was hired to help consult on what some initially considered as cracking of lightweight concrete in corridor areas. Horizon was also to perform corridor repairs to the floor, apply new building envelope coatings and install new windows.

During that work, it became apparent to the Horizon Restoration on-site superintendent that there were other problems associated with the building. Horizon worked with the building owner and consulting engineers to determine the full extant of the problem.

It was determined that the building lacked structural integrity due to a number of issues. Horizon worked closely with the consultants and the owners to make the necessary repairs.
